Cold Burns
A cold burn injury results from exposure to a very low-temperature object or, in some cases, prolonged exposure to moderately cold objects. Cold burns can be just as damaging as thermal burns.
Common causes of cold burns are exposure to dry ice, liquid helium, liquid nitrogen and a variety of other refrigerants.
